If I Stay By Gayle Forman

if i stay

I chose to do this book because it was truly amazing.

If I Stay is a story told by Mia of her out of body experience. Mia was a normal girl, well she’s as normal as you can be with a dad who dresses in suits, bow ties and smokes a pipe, a mom who’s as tough as nails and dresses like she’s still a teenager and you are a prodigy cello player until one day while her family was driving they crashed and both Mia’s parents were killed Mia was very badly injured and comatose and to her surprise Mia wasn’t in her body she could move around the hospital and she had a choice to make, she could die and lose her friend, boyfriend and cello forever or she could stay without her family.

Gone By Michael Grant

Gone

I’m doing Gone because I think the idea is quite unique.

Gone is the story of Sam a boy who has strange powers that made his step dad and his mom divorce, other than that he lives a mostly normal life until one day everyone 15 or older disappears and an unbreakable barrier appears around most of the town. After a few days of chaos everyone calms down and they nominate Sam as their leader partly because of a time in seventh grade when they were on a bus and the driver had a heart attack, Sam saved the day by driving the bus to the side of the road so they wouldn’t get hit.

Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy By Douglas Adams

Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy

I chose to do this series because most young adults of this era haven’t heard of it even though it’s very good.

The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy is a about a man named Arthur Dent, Arthur is your average man with the exception of his friend Ford Perfect. Ford is secretly an alien from another planet who was sent to earth to update The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy (an encyclopedia/guide for hitchhikers) but he was forgotten there and so he was stuck on Earth (which to the rest of the galaxy was thought to be quite primitive) until the Vogons (very ugly mean aliens) came to demolish the planet to make way for an intergalactic bypass, so Ford decided to take Arthur with him (as Arthur was his only friend) when he teleported to the Vogon’s ship. When they got on the Vogons ship they were quickly thrown back off just to be saved in the nick of time by The Heart of Gold; a ship that had just been stolen by the very recently x-ed President of the Galaxy Zaphod Beeblebrox, one of Ford’s old friends/half-cousin, Trillian previously known as Tricia McMillan who was the only other human survivor of the destruction of Earth and Marvin a very depressed robot who became older than the universe itself thanks to a few accidents with time travel. Together and sometimes separately they went on adventures, saved the universe and saw gods final message to his creation.
